How do you measure your company’s cultural health (values awareness), leadership capability, team effectiveness, individual behavioral talents and personal skills or new hire performance potential?
Surveys,
assessments and inventories should be selected and used to gather
valid, reliable and accurate data that help to measure performance.
Once measured, specific actions can be taken to improve performance
on the individual, team and organizational level. All assessment tools
should be administered in conjunction with coaching, training and/or
consulting initiatives (internal or external). Data unlinked to learning
and application is a wasted investment.

Before
selecting a tool for use consider the following:
- Identify the desired goals and objectives the information collected needs to help you achieve
- Research and sample the tools to determine applicability and fit with your people, project and organization
- Inquire about the tools and have providers help link your needs to specific options
- Request a project outline that will support the administration and integration of the tool(s) with your initiative
- Concept/context, ensure that there will be adequate follow-up with a coach or supervisor to make sure the data/feedback is put to work
